Hi everyone! I’m Nuria Alvarez, a Licensed Acupuncturist and Therapeutic Massage Technician, and I’m passionate about helping people achieve better health and well-being through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and therapeutic massage.

My journey into acupuncture started at a very young age, as I grew up surrounded by this ancient healing practice. My grandfather was an acupuncturist, and through him, I developed a deep appreciation for the power of TCM in restoring balance and health. This passion led me to pursue formal studies in my hometown of Barcelona, at the Escuela Superior de Técnicas Parasanitarias. My education also took me to Beijing, China, where I had the privilege of training in private and public hospitals, working alongside highly experienced Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This invaluable experience deepened my understanding of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and holistic healing.

In addition to my training in TCM, I expanded my expertise by studying Therapeutic and Sports Massage, further enhancing my knowledge of human anatomy and movement. Over the past six years, I’ve worked in various massage and complementary therapy centers across Barcelona and Cork, treating a wide range of conditions.

After establishing my own practice in Cork in January 2022, I soon realized the growing need for specialized support in women’s health and fertility. This inspired me to dedicate the past two years to deepening my knowledge in this field, allowing me to better support women through different stages of life, from menstrual health to fertility and pregnancy care.

Beyond my clinical work, I’ve also dedicated time to volunteering in Barcelona, helping patients with chronic and acute pain, cancer treatments (chemotherapy and radiation), chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and other complex conditions.

I am a Professional Member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association (AFPA), based in Cork, and a proud member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN), furthering my commitment to specialized care in reproductive health. I am continuously learning and evolving in my practice to offer the best possible care to my patients.
